Come sing to me another song before we have to part,
A song of promises and love to ease may aching heart.
Your country calls and you must go so others may be free.
I'll miss your arms, your tender kiss, your loving words to me.
You are the essence of my life for you are part of me
As I am part of you my love, in steadfast constancy.
My thoughts and prayers go with you wherever you may be,
On desert sands in foreign lands, airborne or on the sea.
And so my prayers will follow you, I'll leave you in God's care.
To bring you safely home again will be my earnest prayer.
So sing to me another song before we have to part,
A song of tenderness and love to heal my breaking heart.
