Parting With Old Abbey Poem by Dannais dde Daneann

Parting With Old Abbey

Rating: 5.0

Good bye, my Abbey dear and good,
Good bye, Thou ancient dome!
There where the knights of Brotherhood
Kept their kind-hearted home.

Oh, You ruins which are so grey,
And here like warders` centuries stay…

Good bye, Thou dearest Abbey me,
Good bye and will be God with Thee! ..

Good bye, You walls that twined are
By wild and fragrant rose,
Good bye my Soul, my hopeful star,
My faith, my love, my cross! ..

You safely keep the secrets us
In every stone, in every grass! ..

Good bye, I make to Thee my bow,
The Motherland of knights art Thou! ..

Good bye, You stones which stern and old,
Like our minds are right!
I will in heart your image hold
In morn, in day, in night.

Oh, You ruins which are so sad,
Oh, let me go, oh, let me, let! ..

Good bye, Thou dearest Abbey me,
My Soul forever is with Thee! ..
