Party Of The 'Half' Century Poem by Tia Maria

Party Of The 'Half' Century

Rating: 5.0

Oh my friend you cannot be fifty.....
I guess we now just ageing hippies!
And as we made our timely entrances
Age of Aquarius, what's the chances?
My friend and I had matching partners
Village people, but now with paunches!
Oh boy we still can do rock n roll
and we still got so much soul...
And in your curly black wig & bling
Wild thing, you make my heart sing
Your party was really groovy
Wild thing..... you move me......
And as the DJ began to play
Those one hit wonders of the day
Oh my gosh, not 'Pop Music,
Talk about pop, pop music! '
Then to Grease, what sing alongs
And Rocky Horror, love those songs
Kylie screaming out Locomotion
The chain ended in commotion
Poor old Sally ended up in the pool
Party animals can be so cruel
Oh yes, of course we did Abba
Knew all the words to Mama Mia
What a celebration of your half century
My friend you mean the world to me!
(For Pedro -28.10.1958)
