Passing Ships Poem by Linda Ori

Passing Ships

Rating: 4.9

Maybe I should have told you sooner
That I thought you were wonderful?
Maybe I should have pushed you a bit more
Or forced my affections on you?
Maybe I should have put all my cards on the table
At the very beginning?
Maybe I should have made the supreme effort
To enhance this obvious connection?
Maybe I should not have held back my feelings
For fear of having them rejected by you?
Maybe I should not have ruffled your feathers
Quite so many times - unintentionally?
Maybe I should not have craved your attention
Every minute of every day?
Maybe we should have cut to the chase - point blank.....

Instead...........we are just passing ships in the night.

The mystery and the minefield of love and romance set out very clearly and poignantly Linda. Don't look at me. The darned thing is so complex that there's no guaranteed recipe for success so far as I can see. Every situation is different. Doing nothing and not trying are probably things to avoid all the same. (Wonderful image well exploited by the way. It immediately evokes sadness and the idea of missed opportunity.) xx

Maybe can be a regretful word, Sometimes better to fire a broadside, just to attract the attention, everyone with doubt should read this.

MIDNIGHT>>>Ships passing in the Night in it's actual termonology is an example of opportunity, for if there wasn't meant to be any, these 2 ships on a vast open sea would have never touched the same wave simultaneously....as to what happens when the ships pass is not so important...so long as they pass slow enough to stop, if they feel they should.......Great Write on a lifelong, legendary addage...'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''FJR
