Past Love Poem by Justin Zahn

Past Love

Rating: 5.0

I stumbled on a face I met today
which beauty over took my growing eyes.
A face so sweet, admired by the day.
For which replied, I smiléd with a sigh.
Within the past, the face came to my mind.
For whom this face; a face I knew too well.
A love once had but not withheld in kind.
For used, I was, in pain I'm left to tell:
Now loved, I did, but feeling not be shared.
For love to her, was not a word well known.
For while felt, that love flowed in my care,
Till found, she did, a new and now be shown.
The love I felt for her will always be
but, hate, now strong, resides and lives in me.
