Pathetic Fallacy Poem by Mike Finley

Pathetic Fallacy

Rating: 5.0

The event was as successful as a fire.
People came from all across town.

Shuffled their feet, doused him
with water, covered him with dirt,

And when they were sure he was out,
dead out, they went home.

Gnash teeth, wring hands,
get drunk, see hell.

Even the birds in the trees are pissed off.
Even the moon's gone to stand in the corner.
