Pathways Poem by Elizabeth Kurian

Pathways

Diverse are the pathways
In the journey of life,
At times rough and tortuous
With slippery roads
In pitch darkness;
At times smooth and pleasant,
Like a leisurely walk
Through a moonlit garden
With the fragrance of flowers
Pervading the air.

The twists and turns
Are manifold and sudden,
The traveller is unaware
Whether the next moment
He will encounter
Silvery moonlight
Or inky darkness.
