It was the year of 1960
It doesn’t seem that long ago
There were so many things to see
For we enjoyed the country so

There is one special memory
And that was a trip to Peoria
What a great time we had
A strong sense of euphoria

We loved a warm sunny day
To drive or just to look
Dreamy-eyed and in love
A smile was all it took

We had many special places
To enjoy while together
Didn’t matter the time of year
Sunny or rainy weather

We strolled the Peoria gardens
Watched a beautiful swan
Enjoyed our favorite bridge
Time just moved along

We all have a multitude of
Precious memories that will last
It’s fun to pause from time to time
And peek into the past!
