Peek Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

Peek

Pssst, come here!
I’ll let you take a peek
Inside my little mind.
Tears flow;
Oh they’re unstoppable!
Like a punctured radiator,
I hiss, I hiss, I hiss.
Bawling like a little child
Who lost her little kite,
Flightless and afraid.
Yet with a voluminous
Gulp of unsuspecting air,
I gather my best troops
To fend off these termites
Slowly eating me away.
My woes are redundant
Like two burning cigarettes.
Let’s put one out for now
And use the other
To burn through your
Horribly numb existence.
I’m terminal,
But so are you.
This is so much fun;
I’d like to craft another wound.
