This poem is a tribute to those who make us smile.

When I am feeling low,
Disheartened, sad, and blue,
Thank God he sends along,
People like you.

For you lifted my spirit
When I was down.
You made me laugh,
Then gone, my sullen frown.

You made me forget
For just a brief while,
The difficulty,
struggle and trial.

So, keep doing that thing,
For it's your unique style.
We need people like you,
People who make us smile.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
About the poem: A tribute to those who make us smile.'A penny for your thoughts! I'm sure you have heard it. But how much is a smile worth? What about those who work hard at lifting the human spirit? What is a good laugh worth? Even the Bible teaches that 'Laughter is like a medicine.' So, lighten up! We have also heard that it takes more effort to frown than to smile. So, turn that frown upside down and go ahead and smile or laugh out loud! I wrote this little poem to pay tribute to those who make us smile.
