Perfect Expectations Poem by Dawn Jardine

Perfect Expectations

Frustration emerges like a dark cloud
The simple things are the worst of them all
All I want to do is to make her proud
I try, I do, but every time I fall

One day I am going to fill her pride
I will keep trying until I succeed
I don't know how many times I have cried
But one day I know I will become freed

It takes time to perfect all I can be
Then again perfect is impossible
And she will always be better than me
For she is as perfect as a bubble

The perfect shape with its shiny surface
Floating in the wind with its colored face
