Perhaps It Has Been A Blessing/To Be Unknown Unrecognized

Perhaps it has been a blessing
To be unknown unrecognized
No one has bothered me
Or criticized me severely
I am not disturbed wherever I go
I have been able largely
To go my own way alone
I have been free to write
What I wanted to
And what I believed in-

Disappointment and rejection
Are always with me
Loneliness also
A sense of failure too-

But I have done what I could do
And still strive for the recognition
I will probably never have
And probably do not really deserve

Perhaps it has been a blessing
To be unknown unrecognized

Perhaps.
