Others you just cannot seem to impress
And you have low self esteem from your lack of success
But why worry if others your praises don't sing
Since success after all is a relative thing,
Down the social hill you have slid it does seem
And this has done little for your sense of self esteem
But going by how you feel and going by what you say
Perhaps you do look at life in the wrong way
For those who admire you for your material success
Are people that you do not need to impress
You need people to respect you for the person you are
Not for your great job or your new mercedes car
And if to those with material success respect you feel you should pay
Perhaps you do look at life in the wrong way.
