Perseid Poem by Ben Littlechild

Perseid

Shards of light streak the night
As stars dance in the ballroom above.
The lights hypnotise upon their fiery descent
From ancient times they travelled to this night,
slowly warming in our sight.
And in an instance they are gone,
Millennia tumbling in the dark, lost in a moments incendiary flight.
Engulfed in earths warm embrace, kissed by the air that has graced our lungs, slowed by the breathe of our voice
Calling to the universe, show me your wonders!
