Personal Eternity Poem by Angela R. M. Ferrer

Personal Eternity

He touches her face
Sends her a smile
Takes her hand
and twirls her around

She gives him an embreace
plants a kiss on his forehead
breathes the space beaneathe his ear

He whispers something
but she can't understand
He sighs loudly
and shows her what he meant

I will love you forever
through the years that may come
I will stay by your side

Give me children with your eyes
Give me daughters with your smile
Give me angels who sing like your laughter
This is our personal 'ever after'

He watches her sleep
Why does she look
like a piece of heaven?
Fallen or given
to give him a chance

She cries when he's gone
She wonders when he'll come back
Where did their promises go?
Was it all a lie?
I thought you said forever
was between you and me
Never thought space and time would challenge this

I will love you forever
Through the years that may come
I will stay by your side

Give me children with your eyes
Give me sons with you dark hair
Give me angels who wraps me in strong embraces
This is our personal 'ever after'

What do we know about the future?
What simple steps can make?
Although words are nothing but letters
they tell what I feel for you

Time can pass us by
But we grow stronger each day
It doesn't matter what comes our way
I will love you forever
This is our personal 'ever after'
