If your smile is effervescent,
If your time's always a present
You love to share with others,
Not just family or brothers,
If your work's always your playtime
And your politics are like mine
(Or not) and still you call me friend
Then just maybe you are a saint.
If you're not concerned with heaven
('Cause you still have dough to leaven)
Maybe you trust that God is fair
Rejoicing that Grace is your share.
As for needs you don't have any
And your tithe's the widow's penny
If children count you as a friend,
Forget the rest! You are a saint!
Loved this one, Brian. Yes, children are the best at immediately seeing through a person and are great judges of character. Thank you, Brian. RoseAnn
I know dearly that if we have just close to the ones we feel loved to be with, its like we own the mountain of everything....as life is nothing but to collect meaning and value in each second we have..no need to be saint we could be anything that be something for them..so be sweet and delicious is on you..._Soul
I can see your logic here, yes, sometimes we can't give any value judgement on our writes but they make their mark for one major reason, and here is one present too...winning of the heart of children is really something...these are not the children portarayed by william golding, but the innocent forces of the Divine law, uncontaminated by the world dark currents! ! !
Brian, Great - loved it, pat yourself on the back at least 3 times! By the way, as a teenager in Saint john N.B., I played hockey with a Brian Johnston. And a pretty good player he was too! Cheers!
I really like this, it is true as well, children seem to have a much keener sense of who is good and who isn't; a childs opinion is everything. All the same, lovely write :)
