Ph: Love: How Many Times Poem by Brian Johnston

Ph: Love: How Many Times

Rating: 5.0

How many times have you told me goodbye?
Are you happy folks see you're in pain?
You tell me I'm selfish and say I don't care,
And yet when did I ever abstain?
You're not easy to teach, I just move out of reach.
Still, I hope you might notice me there.

What dilemmas you choose, always fearing to lose,
For to love others means you might fail,
Self-indulgent, you know how to roll!
So you lose anyway, killing love every day,
It's delusion that you're in control
Or that yours is original tale.

Oh, there's pain there that's clear!
But the trophy you win comes by cheating again!
For you know you don't give love a chance,
And the cross that you bear, just a soft easy chair,
How you must hate those memories where
Even now you can see yourself dance.

Oh we see it's a trick, no one thinks that you're sick,
Wow! the sad little girl throws her heart at the moon,
Jig is up; it's pure loss; we can tell that you're boss,
Watch the dish run away with the spoon.
