Pheonix Poem by Amanda Parmentier

Pheonix

a life
full of meaning
love and memories.

taken. burned to ashes
what is to become of this massacre?
why

what did i do wrong?
just tell me why and please
make sure that what you
let leak from you teeth, is the truth.
not what you want me to hear or
what you think i should know.

from these ashes i don't know what will grow.
these ashes that were once our complicated relationship.
something new will grow.
good?
bad?
i'll find out... but from these ashes, i emerge,
lessons learned and mistakes accounted for.
judged, mislead, used and jaded... i carry on.

a pheonix from these ashes.
