Pink Sky, Humidity Poem by Kellie Teter

Pink Sky, Humidity

I step out on the porch
it's humid and the
sky is tuning pink
the trees are swaying
back and forth
almost violently
and still I step out
on to the concrete
as I slowly take steps
my hair blows every
which way, and in my face
blinding me, but still
my feet keep on
guiding me away
the fresh crisp air
tastes so good
I spread my arms out
and slowly spin around
trying to let the wind take me
I want to paint the sky
I want to taste the rain
to feel no more pain
only happiness and
make believe
I want to be free
but these day dreams
become foggy when
I lose my balance,
stumble and fall
I snap back to reality
but one day I'll go
back to that place
but for now ill just
take in the earths beauty.
