Placebo Poem by Hazel Nut

Placebo

For all the love I gave you,
You offered me money.

For all the care I gave you,
You offered me sex.

For all the liniment I gave you,
You offered me pity.

I reckoned:
No placebo can purge you -
Of your obdurate indigence.
