Planned Excuses Poem by Ace Of Black Hearts

Planned Excuses

Goals are overrated, and allow us to procrastinate.
Someday I will achieve this.
As if.
The day is now.
Make us proud.
Hanging from a cloud.
Ready to drop down.
Off I go.
Pulling the rip cord.
A once in life time experience.
Don't miss it.
Don't wait till it's too late.
Trust me when I say I've been there.
It still makes me angry.
A planned trade cascades.
Becoming the avalanche that claims and destroys your soul.
Whining you didn't have control.
So this time it's different.
Why is there always something missing.
The final piece never seems to fit.
It's time to reinvent it.
Capturing the smoke.
Not allowing the illusion to take hold.
Yes I give you gold, ten fold.
Confidence with a single smile.
Crossing an ocean in style.
You don't need permission to start.
Burning the last pile of denial.
The unattainable is waiting on you.
You cart is empty, so fill it.
Ideas, become pleas to averting inaction.
Creating a distraction.
I'll get there falls flat.
Carving you name in this baseball bat.
Go ahead take a swing.
Tell me if it ring true.
Giving you a clue.
But a mere suggestion doesn't mean it's not up to you.
So choose.
