Ray X. Johnson

Rookie (4/20/1970 / Philadelphia PA)

It wears on me
Like an old pair of shoes
& I tell you
The Mediterranean
ain’t got nothing on my blues
Ain’t got no home
Ain’t got no car
Ain’t got no band aides
To cover these scars
Only have a dreary song
To match these bars
Whhoooeeew man!
Even the lover I loved
Done hit town
& ran off
& I tell you
It wears on me
Like an old pair of shoes
& I tell you my feet ache
Whenever, I go to move
The Mediterranean
Ain’t got nothing on my blues
Especially when it gets real funky
& starts to wear on me
Like an old pair of shoes
