Poemless Poem by Dan Medina

Poemless

Take me to a place where the birds can no longer fly,
And where rolling seas feathers endless skies.
Where the sun’s violent ferocity touches the moon’s subtle tranquility,
And the vast depths of the ocean seem to cease.
Where starlight rocks the Earth’s Cradle,
And where vast darkness gives way to the light’s glimmer.

Take me to a place where the quiet silence of a summer’s night-
Yells louder than the torments of a winter’s blizzard
And where the soft, lonely ripples on a quiet lake
Never meet the boundary of shore.
Where flowers can never seem to grow,
And trees never to lose what they’ve held so dear.
Where weakness our strength,
And beauty is truly impartial.

Take me a to a place where our quiet whispers pierce their ears,
And where barren emptiness makes the heart whole.
Find this place and lay it as a reality upon our minds, upon our hearts.
So to find peace in struggle,
Hope in fate,
Trust in deceit.
Let us walk as one-
One mind lost in our own transgression,
One hope lit by our own ambitions
One song by our own harmony
One voice heard in full.
Let us lift our eyes
And abandon the faces which disguise us.
To let go of what is so deeply entrenched,
And embrace what is so deeply needed.

Let us find within ourselves a release from the toiling of our imagination,
And pass back the anguish which we have so locked in.
Let us discover moments that silence time,
And times where silent moments are enough
Let us move without the weight that drags,
And breathe without the object that crushes.
Let us swiftly and give to ourselves a chance to live,
A chance to love-
So that the pieces of our broken person join to create something-
That we alone could never make-
That we alone have always needed
-One heart always whole-
-One piece never broken-
