Poetry Is Immortal Poem by Khairul Ahsan

Poetry Is Immortal

Rating: 5.0

Since Time immemorial,
All the poetry that have been written,
Conceived, pronounced or proclaimed,
In languages and signs known and unknown,
All their letters bear
The molten essence of the poet's mind.
All their punctuation marks bear
The exhalation from the poet's heart.
All their words bear a history, an epic.

Be that poem one of immaculate joy,
Be that poem one of perfect love,
Be that poem one of pathetic plight,
In all cases it comes out trampling the heart,
And ultimately disappears beyond the horizon,
To find a place in the outer space, perhaps,
And hang on there till eternity,
To vindicate, when called upon,
As a witness to the poet's pellucid, immortal mind.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem is dedicated to my friend Sandra Feldman, who has written so many beautiful pieces of gems of poetry, eulogizing poetry as 'the coronation of our souls', 'the flower of every sensation' and as 'a universal art', and the poets as the 'souls that sing, secrets, of most everything'.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

You have to be a Poet, To truly understand, That when you write, A power greater than yourself, Takes you by the hand. Being a great Poet and a very sensitive person, Khairul Ahsan understands this well. This poem is a delight with a clear and heartfelt vision of the poet and his creation I am so truly honored to have such a wonderful piece dedicated to me, I barely know what to say. This has brought me great happiness and my gratitude shall be eternal.

@Roseann Shawiak, Thank you very much for your generous appreciation of my poem. I have been much inspired by your thoughts. 'Portraying every aspect of life through the orchestration of words' is an expression I liked very much.

Truly said, a poem is the outcome of a poet's experience and imagination.

This poem is a perfect vision of a poet's world as he creates from the essence of his mortal soul. Portraying every aspect of life through the orchestration of words, meanings and definitions, every moment becoming history in the making. 'And ultimately disappear(ing) beyond the horizon'. An absolute gem being a witness t the mind. Thank you for a really wonderful poem. RoseAnn
