Poetry Is Not Poem by Kaj Samuelsson

Poetry Is Not

Poetry is not like the scent of flowers,
Nor like rainbow skies,
But from these come poetic powers,
And like age is renewing features and eyes,
Poetry can ease your sorrows
Or get your eyes to sparkle for endless tomorrows.

Some complain about the march of time
And rage about passing years.
But to me, age is a song and chime.
Renewing features and removing tears.
What matters a wrinkle here and there
If you like life as it is everywhere?
