Poetry -Revised Poem by Idris El Asha

Poetry -Revised

Poetry should be said by a confessor
On his way to be a professor
Unapproved by the priest
Banned by the government
Admired by the lay man
Said by the masses
Read like a holy book
Sanctioned by ancestors, and failing them
Taken as a timeout out of them
Cherished as a plaything, or a piece of work
Collected as a crazy quilt
Solicited by the publisher
Published by the public
Distributed by word of mouth
Recovered by posteriority
Changing swordplay into wordplay.
