Politicians Poem by Wynono Kwahu

Why do we put up with politicians that lie
They say what we want to hear then misapply
Their words are hollow and carry no weight
All they ever look for are the pieces of eight

Why cant they govern with vision
And leave behind all the indecision
See our world for what it is - one world under the sky
If they cannot do that they should say goodbye

If mankind is to survive his own reign
From the wars in the world he must abstain
Lay down the machine we use for war
And begin to bring the love in the world ashore

It is not difficult, can all be done
In the world we are all one
Colour or Creed is no reason to fight
These thing were given during the first light

We are one nation under the sun
When a politicians arrive that will fight to be one
I will support them with all that I am
I say to the rest you are nothing but a sham
