Pomp And Toddler Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Pomp And Toddler

When it is known someone grown,
Has been shown to give recognition...
Undeserving to get it.
Yet sits in a position to provide others,
With benefits.
Whenever someone like this wishes.
But craves an overdose,
Of gleaming bling and dazzling glitz.
It should be given to give.
With all the pomp there is.
Pulling out all the stops to pop eyes.
Until a way is found,
For such a toddler to be grounded.
Although the patience to tolerate it,
May seem for an eternity to come.
Finding the right way to have this done.
