Pop Goes Passion Poem by s.zaynab kamoonpury

Pop Goes Passion

Rating: 4.8

It builds up in steam
steamy l'amour in passion's pressure cooker
only to let it all out to vanish
once the honeymoon is over.

So the sizzling love affair
fizzles out like some fizzy drink
uncorked by a pair of human corkscrews
and the fizzy fizz just evaporates
and love is said to have flown out the window
disappearing as if into thin air!

So like the pressure cooker
when it has let out all steam
romance escapes in a fountain of outburst
through a listless vent
and love life seems empty
much like a bursted bubble or balloon

Even the most extravagant romantic serenade
couldn't have stalled the explosion of the passion grenade
The passionate moments soon after
left to clutter about
like debris in the aftermath
merely like vague memories
A broken puzzle of love-life
scattered and shattered
leaving love fragmented
with some pieces lost beyond retrieval
while others super-imposed upon memory
to haunt forever
for the ex-lover
is life's tenacious mind-prowler
if not a stalker

Passion merely reaches the summit
and from any summit
there is only a downward climb
thus passion from that peak
could only spiral and plummet.

As then you pay passion's penance
for partakin of forbidden romance
Loss of love is its foremost nemesis
rendering all passion and love out of wed-lock
to be totally, absolutely useless!

(I have observed scores of times that nations which indulge in pre marital fornication have far fewer of happy or longlasting marriages)

I enjoyed reading your poem and am in total agreement. Everyone should stop putting the cart before the horse.

maybe this is a little bit too much in your face. Subtility might be the trick here. Your travels might have done wonders for you, hope you talk a lot to some old friends. It might be nice to bring the world together.

Passion merely reaches the summit and from any summit there is only a downward climb thus passion from that peak could only spiral and plummet. Is a reality, passion is put on downslopes reciprocat to our expectations, well written piece.

Fantastic dictionary... I'm not englishman so I had to translate a lot of for me unknown words but I can see that deepness in it. So keep it intense and fantastic.

You are quite right Zaynub! Mere passion which is not sanctified is likely to end up like a blown out balloon! Sanctity of man woman relationship shouldn't be left to go awry.....! It should be built on love! Forbidden relationships are likely to cause pain and misery! Enjoyed the poem with striking images and play of words!

Very well written, and I agree with your point of not building a relationship based on something so fickle as passion. Pity, most do not realise this and end up in divorce. A relationship between two people should be built on divine love and understanding. It is a life's journey. Both should grow together and learn together. Passion is only a small portion of this.

Views can sometimes be ostensible to people belonging to different sects and school of thought. Nonetheless, an insightful write. It's prose has merit of poetical cliche.
