Porcelain Bowl Poem by Crystal Pierce

Porcelain Bowl

My heart is a porcelain bowl.
It holds a lot.
It withstands extreme temperatures.
From red hot anger
To icy cold depression.
If plated properly,
My happiness looks gourmet.
It's been broken.
Little chips knocked off here and there.
Cracks formed by trust issues,
Heart break
And sadness
But mended with a golden stream of friendship and love.
Compassion.
Just because I'm broken,
Doesn't mean I'm less valuable.

I found a comment on one of my poems from you from several years ago. It is a poem about 'what is a great guy' (besides me, of course) . I'm glad you

heartbreak, not heart break. 'The most common cause of heartbreak was a romantic breakup, while the least common cause was a non-romantic event (e.g., a pet dying) . '
