Poseidon's Daugther Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Poseidon's Daugther

Rating: 5.0

Cupid shot his arrow into Poseidon's Divine sea,
Unsure what treasure would be uncovered,
Maybe love, far fetched from a short lived fling.
Maybe a hymn, saught by a heartfelt dreamer not sure what to believe.
To his surprise a mermaid appeared out of a passing current holding a bow.
He wiped his eyes as he thought they didn't exist.
She shown her compassion as she pointed to him, then the heartshaped tip which missed her by an inch.
The wind blew lightly as he fluttered toward the grin in her eye applogizing dearly.
Their hands kissed in introduction, her attention was charmed to meet his acquaintance.
He grabbed her hand and took her to the cloud from which he shot the bow,
She lost wind of breath as she'd never been that high up before,
He pressed his lips up against hers, refilling her lungs with his breath,
An unspeakable symphony that shone beneath the sun.
In truth he told her that he only knew to spread love but has never received it in return,
With a low breath she said she had something to show him,
She grabbed a piece of the cloud and placed it over his nose and mouth.
Together they dove off the cloud and splashed beneath the ocean,
Swimming beneath the shadows of currents.
She took him to a mountain time forgot about underneath the ocean,
Together they sat ontop the mountain peak watching the kale sway back and forth as the fish played in schools,
A mural played out as their conversation mimic'd the colorful fish that spoke the unspeakable,
Moments graced eternity as she taught him to swim, throwing his wings to the side.
Cupid shot his last four arrows into the sun, burning in a cruifix motion.
A symbol that she would forever kindle the fire in his heart
