Post Elections' Woes Poem by Hebert Logerie

Post Elections' Woes

Many truths were told
Many cattle were sold
Many castles were destroyed
Many people were soiled
Many politicians were exposed
Many numbers were juxtaposed
After all wars, there are dead soldiers
After all elections, there are sad followers
That's life, countless liars won
There can only be one number one
The losers and his/her supporters
Are dejected, depressed and not too happy
There is a next time. Leaders are learners
Who know how to weather the strange or dirty
Storms or disappointments of every moment
One has to have thick skin, be tolerant
And charming in defeat.Happiness does not last
A mandate of four or five year goes very fast
Before you know it, it's time to be re-elected
It's a new battle. It's time to campaign again
The wounds are now healed and the intense pain
Has disappeared. New and old candidates are dedicated
Hungry and eager to win the next election
Politics is a difficult game of patience and passion
There's hope, there's a next time to try
Nevertheless, the dream will never die.
