I believed the shedding
Of your crocodile tears...
Think me not stupid,
Only know me once naive.

You bluffed apologies,
Denying me resistance.
I gave you sympathy,
Only to be rewarded apathy.

With one too many chances given,
One too many heartaches received.
A girl with a heart of gold,
And a boy with no ardour to hold.

Those one-too-manys were the last.
I need not be subject to masquerade.
I moved on little too fast,
And left my heart little to spare.

I feel my heart sober
After drowning in spirits.
I look at you and see tears -human tears-
But it is too late now for those.

Should've thought it over
Before walking me over,
For my mind has been set,
And I plan on following my plan.

So goodbye, as my beloved.
You have given me much to remember,
And never will I mentiom you with bad.
I feel my heart a chamber
In which all the good is kept forever.

Please understand that times have changed
And so have I.
You made me wiser,
And the heartache was a real eye-opener.

Purity still lies in my actions and thoughts,
But naivety is long gone.

Crocodile or human,
Tears rarely affect me anymore.
I built a wall around me,
And few are those I will let in.

You changed me forever,
And I do not regret it.
If anything I want to thank you,
For you only made me stronger.

You will always have a place in my heart
Within the walls that surround.
I will always let you in,
Only a different kind.

I hope regret crosses no further your way
Because this is what is best.
May a kind of love be put to rest,
And a different one flourish.

We were good a couple,
But are better friends.
I find it simple to keep you that way,
For our history knows close to no end.
