They are good and honest folks
Their land has so much to give
They grow crops across the prairie
In the good life that they live
Just plain ordinary people they are
Living by uncomplicated rules
Life isn’t easy but it’s made simple
Their parents didn’t raise no fools
Plant their crops and let them grow
Nourish them and they’ll be grand
They raise their kids the same way
On this worn but rich sweet land
They never waste a single thing
And teach their kids the same
It’s part of their way of life
Proud that their world is plain
They teach and live exactly by
The golden rule that we all know
Not afraid to hug their kids and
They love them and tell them so
If you’d like to meet some folks
That don’t want a mansion or castle
You’ll love the kind of folks that are
Just plain good prairie people!
