Prayer Before Revenge Poem by mifael llauderes

Prayer Before Revenge

Rating: 5.0

Gripping knuckles against knuckles
Gnashing the teeth against teeth
Heaving breast to stretch a temper
Groaning hoarse to ease release

In your face I blast my anger
In your flesh I’ll etch my grief
Up to God I cry my yearnings
From your blood I’ll quench my thirst

God forbid my retribution
O I plead for quick relief
Let my heart from fiery furnace
Be as subtle as the face

Of that Man hung on the cross
How He gave His life for less

A very nice poem about anger and the Christ. I love the rhyme and the meter. A 10 for this.
