Pretend you're happy
even if you don't feel that way.
Pretend you never cry
even if you've been broken emotionally.
Pretend you're strong
even if you're weaker than the grass beneath you.
Pretend words don't hurt
even if they made you into the pretender you are.
Pretend that you're beautiful
even if you don't see it in the mirror.
Pretend your family never broke a promise
even if you're still waiting for it to happen.
Pretend someone never broke your heart
even if its still under construction.
Pretend you never lied to yourself
even if the lies helped a little.
Pretend you're someone else for a day
even if you know the person you are will never change.
