Pretenders Poem by Brodie Montgomery

Pretenders

I watch you with the others,
I see you over there,
I've seen you turn your heart away,
I know that you don't care.

I know you think they like you,
I understand they should,
But they think nothing like i do,
They never really could.

You try and make them notice,
To see that you are cool,
But do you think they think of you,
When they're outside of school.

They act as if you're special,
They pretend to be so nice,
Though once you get down to their hearts,
It's nothing but cold ice.
