Pride Poem by Maggie Wolf

Pride

Rating: 5.0

Must foolish men do the things that they do?
And for silly reasons, not wrong, nor right.
Their pride, to be sure, can be a virtue,
Yet it's often against this they must fight.
It can be the ruin of many, ‘tis true.
But when clouds of vanity blind their sight,
Humility can be the saving grace;
For it alone sets proud men in their place.
