Diana van den Berg

Rookie - 300 Points (4 November 1945 / Durban, South Africa)

Print-Out - Poem by Diana van den Berg

Ocean-far,
I watch the sun
soften your smile
and lift it upwards,
secure and sweet.
I see your shoulders free
against an eagle-wide sky
and your hands quiet
like a butterfly on a stone.

I am so glad
that you
let me
be
your solemn solace.
