Promises Poem by SR B

Promises

People often dropped promises
And made you hold on to them
You were so glad and hopeful
Which made you trust them so much.

Your whole heart and mind
were both stuck with those thoughts
believing that some sweet words
will be saving you from this sorrow and emptiness.

One day those people will vanish
together with their vows,
Eventually broke you into pieces
And nothing you can do but to go on and frown.

Now you were left alone
Trying to get up and survive from the torn
Putting your fragmented self together
And doing the best all by your own.
