Promises Of The Night Poem by Airda Jones

Promises Of The Night

I could only dream
The footsteps in my hall
Would be you coming home
To rescue my call
Once a young boy
Now a savior so tall
But never dreaming
How far my heart would fall
Never knew that
My feelings would have to hide
From all of those who
Stood between us on the outside
But no effort of theirs was permanent
They have failed in their tries
Because we find ourselves together
To sneek off into the night
And with the moon as a witness
I will become your bride
Our journey will begin
With us on our own
Our love has risen above all
And it has shown
We will make our own destiny
And it will be known.

Watch your step, there are many potholes in the road ahead.
