I wonder oft why cavemen chose to sing
Before using speech communicating,
Dull, prose dreams not and no subtlety lands,
To narrowest of vision oft to bind,
Failing to touch, besides, heart's deepest core,
Why birds chose just to sing from eons ere,
Nor does it reach poetic height, nor finds
Rainbow's pied shades where black and white reign ends.
Why today's time-starved world chooses to speak,
Why today's man on run is tuned to head,
Why no use he has for rarefied peak,
The beast of logic by logic is led,
Self-interest that rose fragrance does spread,
So is for man to enhance rule of head.

Irregular rhymes in the octave indicate that the poet perhaps is not sure of his premise. But by the time he reaches the sestet, some order is restored as the rhymes show.
