Prostate Cancer Poem by George Capron

Prostate Cancer

Early in the morning
We do not sleep for pain
As the day is dawning
Lord, send down the rain

We know that our tomorrows
Will be brighter than before,
We'll give up all our sorrows
Praise God for evermore.

Our burdens they are lightened
our pains, they fall off.
We are no longer frightened
Though cynics laugh and scoff.

JESUS is forever. Not just for a day
If we endeavour to sever
Our souls from Satan's way
We'll live with God forever,
Forever, with him we'll stay.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I was in a hospital in Cuba, not expecting to survive the rigours of fighting prostate cancer, when these words descended and locked themselves into my consciousness, I asked the nurse for pen and paper and wrote them down. Somehow, after writing them I felt relieved. Every time I peruse these words I get a feeling of peace cascading throughout my brain and body.
