Proud people
Stand straight and tall
With their hand on their heart
The recite the pledge
They have taken so many times before

But this time is different
Each word echos in their mind
Each word has a real meaning
That forms together with every other word

This time the know what it truly means
And they take it in their heart and tuck it away
With pride glowing on their faces
They stand ready to defend their country and their flag any day.
