Providence And Inwardleigh Poem by William Pryor

Providence And Inwardleigh

this -
fresh made
out of words
not found on a sign
post in the middle
of the country
showing the way
to Inwardleigh

this -
a connecting
of paths
worn down
by escaping
goats, frisky
rams and passing
fantasies

this -
a high-banked
channel
through open fields
that's set in its ways
of going forward

this -
a con-
fection
that'll never
taste the same

this growth
that would know
its own way
to Inwardleigh.

(Inwardleigh is in Devon, near Folly Gate at map reference 50: 46: 53N,4: 03: 29W)
