Puberty Poem by Tex T Sarnie

Puberty

From the moment we learned that our bodies
were behaving in different, unusual, ways.
We had no choice and had to accept the changes,
because puberty arrives before our teenage days.

As our lives began to change, we had to adjust
and we needed to consider the implications.
For advice we asked adults for their opinions,
and some helped in removing speculations.

Many adults were giving us sound advice,
which helped us on our way to maturity.
However, some adults had double standards,
which left us open to ridicule and lacking clarity.

Most of us had our problems with puberty
which we experienced in different ways.
We all knew that we had to get through it,
and progress beyond our childhood days.
