I never meant to cause you any pain or sorrow.
I was thinking in the now and not about tomorrow.
I didn’t think you wanted me when we first met.
Now, the things I’ve done to you I regret.
I had no intention of breaking your heart though I have from the start.
You mean the world to me.
I hope you can see.
Look deep into my eyes.
Hear my hearts’ cry.
I love you and have always.
I will love you all my days.
Here I stand in the purple rain feeling ashamed for how I have treated you.
Continuing to love you is all I can do.
I want to see you smile and laugh.
All my love you have.
I’m standing in the purple rain hoping you will remain.
My love has grown and is greater for you than I’ve ever known.
Stay with me, my love, and I will prove to you that my love is true.
There is so much more I want to give to you.
Come and dance with me in the purple rain.
Your precious heart I promise to sustain.
