Rating: 5.0

Odia
Barsa Ranee!
Achha keunthare keun nibhruta konare
Shubhuniki pruthibee abasee janatanka raba
Bineeta prathana tumbhe akula swarare
Shuska dhusara shreeheena pruthibee prusthare
Debaku kinchita jala tusartha jeebane?

English-
Queen of rain, where are you?
Are you in the dark corner of earth?
Are you not listining to the outcries of earthlings
Who are praying you for drop of water
To survive their lives in a dry and gray earth?

Odia-
Rahichhaki taditbega, jalada satheere?
Kajjala lepita gahe bijuli pralepa
Uddbhasita karuthae neelakasha tale
Ghana ghana megha dhwani chhadi ki paruna,
Taditprabha akarsita karichhi ki kuha?

English-
Are you with murky clouds
Where lightning plays with light and thunder?
The sound and light are playing
Under the azured sky,
Are you in the attraction of them?

Odia-
Barsa ranee! asa asa karuchhu ahwana
Shuska, nisprabha abaneere kara jala dana
Santapita dharabasee labhantu sheetala
Banaraji brukshalata sarisrups adi
Nara, kinnara, banara, danaba samooha
Pashu pakshi jalajiba hoibe ullasa,

-English-
Queen of rain! welcome you
Please come soon
Come and provide rain
To dry gray furrowed earth,
Let thirsty earthlings
Get satisfied with cool weather
Let them quench their thirst,
Let animals, birds, reptiles, trees
Creepers, men, and demons be cheered.

-Odia-
Puri uthu jalarashi sarita sagare
Adra heu shuska mati taba datta neere
Pallabita heu patra landa mahadrume
Harita shobha biraju bruksha lata dehe
Hasi uthu dharanee maa sabuja gunthane.

-English-
Let the pool, puddle, river and sea
Fill up with your rain water,
Let the dry and hot soil
Be cold and wet,
Let leafless trees and creepers
Get green foliage and make the
Environment alive and beautiful,
Let the motherland smiles
Under green veil.

Cloud is mystically does rain. Greatest love comes from God through light into Earth. We feel this. This is really great when love is transformed into light of love of wisdom. Love glows and grows with us. This is a great write and you are a nice poet.

Apananka kabitatati atyanta hrudayayasparshi hoichhi, Pratyeka pankti re sundara sabda binyasa o bhabara samisrana kabitatiku utchakotira karichhi. A profound write on Rainy season in Odia language and its equally beautiful rendering in English- - The poet addresses Queen of Rain'- - When some one reigns in our heart we address the person king or queen.'.The absence of queen Rain is very much felt by the earthlings. They pray her earnestly to visit as.they need her for their survival.
