Query Poem by Ann Mckeeman

Query

i stand before the ancient way
arms outstretched to greet the day

upon the road i set my feet
a million folk i may well meet

to each a question put to task
will you join me? this i ask..

the way may wind and it may bend
travel long and never end

but in the telling of the tale
the journey, then, we shall not fail

for with each step, each breath, each lesson
we reveal our hearts' confession

told with skill, sung with grace
learning lessons at our pace

until upon the horizon there
we espy the prize most rare

a life lived well, with love and mirth
will bring us to our own rebirth

for we then walk the beauty path
i say once more, we ARE the math

and in the summing, i ask again
will you not join me, my kith, my kin?
