Queue Fever

Caught in a Covid queue,
I thought,
'Queue could be qioux as in Sioux
or qiew as in view
or qieu as in lieu
or qew as in few
or que as in blue.'

'Shorter still, '
I thought, 'q would be better -
as in nothing but itself, the letter.'
